In this guide we will show you the three simple steps it takes to install our units to a 2018 BMW LCI M2, although the same procedure applies for most vehicles.

Step 1: We start by turning all of the vehicle electrics off. Ensuring the car is turned off and key is removed from the ignition is enough here, although for extra precaution you can always disconnect your battery terminals. We then remove the OEM Number Plate Units from the tailgate. For this vehicle they can be safely removed using a flat head screwdriver or trim tool. If you do use a flat head screwdriver, take extra care to avoid damaging your bodywork! Gently pry the unit to one side to allow it to be removed from the tailgate recess, like so:

Step 2: Now that the Number Plate Unit has been removed, disconnect the plug connector on the back of the unit. Again, be careful at this stage - you don't want the loose end of the connector to retract into the tailgate as it could be a real headache to try and pull back out, so be sure to hold on to it and keep it exposed. Simply plug in the Auto LED Number Plate Unit upgrade and pop the unit back into the bootlid in reverse order.

Step 3: Now that one side is complete we repeat this same process for the second Number Plate Unit and that's it! Turn your lights on and take a step back to admire your new, super bright LED Number Plate lights. Simple, right?
