LED Headlight Bulbs are arguably the most cost efficient way to improve your vehicles visibility at night and can be installed in as little as 15 minutes when you know how.

In this guide we talk you through the step-by-step process of installing our H4 Premium LED Headlight Kit to a 2003 Honda Civic EP. Although not every vehicle is the same, the fitting process will be very similar regardless of vehicle or bulb type so this should provide a good indication of the fitting procedure for your vehicle.

Before we dive into the step-by-step detail, it is important to highlight two super important points regarding LED Headlight Bulb upgrades before you consider purchasing some for your vehicle:

1. Due to UK Legislation, LED Headlight bulb upgrades should only be fitted for show or off-road use only. LED Headlight bulbs should not be fitted to reflector headlights as they will not produce the correct beam pattern to comply with DVSA regulations.

2. Although our Premium LED Headlight bulbs are proven error free in 95% of vehicles, we unfortunately cannot guarantee they will be error free in every vehicle. Why might this be? This is because it is entirely dependant on the sensitivity of your vehicles canbus system, and the sensitivity can differ between vehicle to vehicle... even if the two vehicles are of the same make and model, they may require different levels of resistance in order to prevent any errors.

With that said, LED bulbs are a fantastic cost efficient upgrade to improve your vehicle visibility and overall appearance of your vehicle. With installation possible in under 15 minutes, anyone can fit their bulb upgrades themselves from the comfort of their own home. Let's get stuck in on how to fit the bulbs...

Step 3. This is where it gets a little fiddly. H4 bulbs are held in position by a metal retaining clip around the collar of the bulb. Locate the top of that clip as shown with the green arrow below, press inwards and to the left to release the clip from the light and the retaining clip will drop down as pictured. The Headlight bulb will now be easily accessible to be removed.

Step 4. Withdraw the old bulb carefully and place to the side. Take care here, hold the bulb at the base and avoid touching the glass part of the lens. This is particularly important if you plan on reusing the halogen bulbs at a later date. You will find Halogen bulbs can get very hot when they are operating, but they need to heat evenly, so if you leave traces of grease on the bulbs from your fingerprints it can cause uneven heating when the bulb is in use.

Now that your halogen bulb has safely been removed, your new LED bulb can now be installed into the headlight:

Step 5. Fitting is the reverse of steps 1 - 3. Insert the new LED bulb, threading the wire with the 3 pin plug through the centre of the clip as shown in step 3. Bring the metal clip back upwards, press as shown by the green arrow and move to the right to locate the locking point in the light assembly to secure the light in position.
